TagRescue Ltd ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency about how we handle your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights regarding your personal data.
This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the TagRescue platform, including tag owners and anyone who scans a TagRescue tag (referred to as "finders").
We collect different types of information depending on how you interact with our Service. We process personal data under the following legal bases: contractual necessity (to provide our Service), consent (where you have given permission), legitimate interests (to improve and secure our Service), and legal obligation (to comply with applicable laws).
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, country of residence, and password (securely encrypted).
When you create or manage a tag profile, you may provide tag names, descriptions, contact details, reward information, and photographs of items or pets.
Important: You should not include sensitive personal information (such as your home address, financial details, or medical information) in tag descriptions or any other fields. If we detect that such information has been added, we may remove it to protect your privacy. You remain responsible for any risks that may arise from choosing to make information publicly visible.
When you upload photographs, we store and process the images to display on our platform and use automated content moderation tools to detect inappropriate content. Images that fail moderation checks will be rejected. If you believe your image has been incorrectly blocked, please contact us at support@tagrescue.co.uk.
By uploading images, you confirm that:
When someone scans your tag, we automatically collect the date, time, approximate location, and device information. If the scanner voluntarily shares their precise location, we also collect GPS coordinates.
When a finder scans your tag, they may voluntarily provide their name, telephone number, email address, and a message. All contact information provided by finders is voluntary.
To protect finder privacy, we automatically anonymise finder contact details after a period of time. Telephone numbers and email addresses are permanently deleted when anonymised.
When you share tag access with another user, we collect invitation details, acceptance status, and permissions granted. Both parties can see relevant information about the shared access.
When you purchase a subscription or tags, we collect billing information, order details, subscription type, and transaction history. We do not store your full payment card details on our servers. These are securely handled by our certified payment processor.
We record your consent at the time of purchase, including the policy versions you agreed to and relevant technical information.
When you contact us for support, we collect email correspondence, support ticket history, and any information you provide in your messages.
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address, consent confirmation, and subscription source. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email.
